Wardrobe essentials for Spring are not only looking good but are falling well below my expected budget at my recent visit to Joe Fresh, but, what’s this I see near the check out?

Sheer cheek tints for $4 dollars? Volumizing & lengthening mascara for $6 dollars?

Do my eyes (and cheeks and lips) deceive me, or do I see Joe Fresh branded cosmetics?

Indeed, I do. It seems, Joe Mimran has a new venture on his hands, and the Joe Fresh Beauty line is now in stores. Trendy cosmetics that are also affordable, these products mimic Joe’s ideology behind the clothing itself. “…It’s always about value, style and quality…” says the creative director of Joe Fresh Style himself.

So, after a tiny bit of hyperventilating at the products and colours and prices, my friend calmed me down just long enough to pore over each and every side of the feature stand, which contained an array of products.

I tested a few of the items I bought before I headed out on Saturday night and here is what made the short list for a smoky eye/nude lip look :

- Eyeshadow singles, at $4, in a foggy grey/blue shade known as “Petrol”. The strong pigment and deep tone made for a perfect smoky eye in just one sweep, and held for the whole Saturday night.

- Mascara, at $6, in black, was a duo formula that made my lashes both full and long, and the brush was excellent! Bushy and bristle-full, just how I like my mascara brushes!

- Cheek tint, at $4, in “Nude” gave me a subtle wash of colour and a nice sheen to my face.

- Automatic lip liner, at $6, in the neutral “Cinnamon” gave a soft neutral/pink flush to my lips while holding in the next item on my list…

- Lipgloss, at $8, in “Peach”, this season’s it colour, over the lip liner made for a perfect, non-sticky, nude lip to let the smoky eye stand out.

As it turns out, these products have found their way into my personal makeup bag as some of the years best deals, hands down.

Final score? Overall, these are great products at even better prices. But I must admit that I was truly swayed in my “love it!” attitude towards this new launch of cosmetics since it also includes brushes and accessories within a $2-$16 price range. They’ve covered all their bases, and it appears they’ve done so with some attractive players.

Looks like Joe Mimran has hit it out of the park, yet again.
